Guided Shear Gate Valve

Shear gates are designed for use in lines of low seating pressure for filling and emptying tanks low sludge discharge lines and similar applications.

It is available from 50 mm 2 through to 600 mm 24 and operates to a maximum pressure of 10200 kpa 1480 psi. They are ideal for tanks where sludge is likely to stick as the shearing action on closure scrapes this material free. The delta industrial 30s and 30l series valves are a fully rated asme class 300 pn50 guided shear gate designed for severe duty applications. These gates are used in low seating pressure applications only.

The delta industrial 15s and 15l series valves are a fully rated asme class 150 pn20 guided shear gate designed for heavy duty applications. All dss valves utilize a guided shear gate design that consists of a shearing tip over sized gate and internal gate guides. A guided shear gate valve has the most features and best fundamental rugged design to operate in these challenging conditions and provide the best performance for the myriad of applications. This enables them to shear through solids scale fiber and other media.

Since those early days in 1995 they have purchased over 7 500 guided shear gate valves and this is the preferred slurry knife gate for their tailings recovery operations tro. The delta industrial class 600 is a fully rated asme class 600 pn100 guided shear gate valve. Solids in the pipeline cause traditional gates to deflect warp and leak to atmosphere. Additional features include a full round port 316 stainless steel materials front and back flush outs and a full flat face flange.

Waterman c 16 shear gates are designed for filling or draining tanks in treatment plants for low pressure low sludge drainage lines and other similar applications. They provide a tight shearing action upon closing that removes any sludge remaining on the seat of the valve. As odd as it sounds traditional knife gate valves cannot actually cut through material on a repeatable basis. The delta industrial class 600 valve features carbon steel bodies and a hardened 17 4 ph stainless steel gate.
